just behind the tree line before the ranges, a distance of approximately 7 km.
Just to the right of centre, there
is a gap in the trees, this is the "Gympie
Wine Glass" (Water Tower).
The mountains in the background are the
foothills of the Great Dividing Range. During the Summer months Cumulonimbus Cells build up over these mountains and head for the Eastern seaboard (South Pacific Ocean) which is approximately
40 km to the East of Gympie. ( Left of the Picture).
